Our fish are wild, sustainably caught, and delicately cared for. While many commercial fishing fleets use large nets or traps to catch their fish, we use a hand-baited hook and line.

Why Choose Our Fish
Our fish are wild, sustainably caught, and delicately cared for.  While many large fishing fleets use nets or traps to catch their fish, we use hook and line; a process called “long lining.”  This means that a very long line of rope has a hook every 3 feet that has to be hand-baited. Black cod, our mainstay, are deepwater fish that live in ocean canyons that range from 1200 - 3000 feet deep.  Once the line is set and the appropriate time has elapsed, the line is then pulled up by a hydraulic system on the boat.  Each fish is then individually placed in the boat.  Although this process is exceedingly labor-intensive, it allows us to have the highest quality product available.  The fish are not battered and bruised, as in the case when they are caught using large nets or traps. Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality fish from the coast of Northern California.
